Embroidery (not your grandma's – the logoed apparel kind 🙂
To process an embroidery order, artwork (more on artwork later) must be digitized which converts a two-dimensional image into commands that can be read by an embroidery machine's computer.

Embroidery Red Flags:
- Birdnesting (thread clumps)
- Hoop burns
- Stitch gaps
- Messing backing/support material
Knowing the limitations of embroidery process is key, for instance:
Caps: Lettering should be no larger than 2.3 inches tall for front of a ball cap.
Performance Wear: Waterproofing can be compromised during the logo process so the barrier must be resealed if punctured during embroidery. A protective backing is used so waterproofing isn't undermined.
